Designed for parents, built for safety

We believe feeding your baby should be stress-free. Nomi uses a deterministic safety engine aligned with AAP, FDA, and WHO standards.

Custom Allergy Rules

Define allergies (dairy, tree nuts, eggs) for up to 5 child profiles. Nomi automatically flags matching ingredients and bilingual synonyms.

Age-Gated Verification

Nomi verifies ingredient suitability against your baby's exact age (such as honey under 12 months, or raw fish/unpasteurized milk under 5 years).

Nomi Quality Score

Calculates a holistic score out of 100 based on processing level (NOVA scale), nutritional balance, organic status, and toddler food additives.

Live Recall Monitoring

Nomi syncs directly with CPSC and FDA databases. Bookmarked products are continuously monitored, and you are notified immediately of new recalls.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Nomi evaluate safety?
Nomi relies on a strict, rule-based safety engine. Every warning is traceable back to official guidelines published by pediatric and regulatory institutions such as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the FDA, CDC, and the WHO. It is not an AI model and does not make safety predictions.
What is the Nomi Quality Score?
The Nomi Quality Score ranges from 0 to 100. It begins with a base score and applies deductions for high levels of food processing (NOVA group 4), poor nutritional density (e.g. high sugar or sodium content), and chemical additives or gums not recommended for babies.
Is my search history shared?
No. Your scans, search history, and child profiles are stored only on your device. Nomi has no servers and no account system, so this information never leaves your phone. We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 20, 2026

Nomi runs entirely on your device. We do not operate a backend or a user-account system, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers. No analytics, no advertising trackers — ever.

1. Information Stored on Your Device

Everything Nomi saves is kept only in your phone's local storage and never leaves your device:

  • Child Profiles: Names, dates of birth, gestational (premature-birth) correction, and declared allergies — used strictly to compute age-personalized safety guidance (e.g. flagging honey for babies under 12 months).
  • Scan History: The products you scan, with their evaluation, so you can review them later.
  • Saved Products: Items you bookmark to watch for recalls.
  • Reminders: Local notification schedules for milestone and "now safe" alerts.

2. Network Requests

To evaluate a product, Nomi contacts public services. It does not attach your name, your child's information, or any personal identifier to these requests:

  • Scanned barcodes and product-name searches are sent to Open Food Facts to look up product information.
  • Product names are sent to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and openFDA to check for recalls.

These services may log requests in accordance with their own privacy policies.

3. What Nomi Never Does

  • We do not operate a user-account system or a cloud backend.
  • We do not collect analytics, usage data, advertising identifiers, or crash reports.
  • We do not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share information about you or your family.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Nomi does not collect any data directly from children. The app is designed for use by parents and legal caregivers. Profiles created for a child are entered exclusively by the parent, stored only on the parent's device, and used solely to determine age-appropriate safety evaluations.

5. Your Choices & Data Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can clear your scan history, delete individual child profiles, or erase everything at once from Profile → "Delete all data." Because nothing is stored off your device, this removes every record completely. Deleting the app from your phone also removes all of its data.
